To equip you with the best tools we offer a great training program to all our TradeSchool customers. FM Synergy has a complete curriculum for training trade school staff on how to use our web hosting services, TradeSchool software and get the most out of the FileMaker Pro platform.

Most of our training will be begin in 2010 when our flagship product ships.  While our software has a very intuitive interface, clear documentation, and a great support system, we are dedicated to ensuring your team is well trained in using the software to their best abilities.

There are always new techniques and creative solutions to be learned and shared in the classroom environment.  We encourage our customers to attend at least one of our Introduction, Intermediate or Advanced classes to get the most from their investment.

1, 2 or 3 day classes can be scheduled for introduction, intermediate and advanced training in both FileMaker Pro and the TradeSchool management software.  Our teaching and presentations are well organized to help you succeed with your new software.

FM Synergy will not be holding classes until TradeSchool has moved from the beta testing stage and becomes a shipping product.  Please check back with us towards the summer of 2010 to see where our classes will be held.  Even better, join our mailing list to stay current on TradeSchool production and FM Synergy services so you can be ready when the product rolls out.

Introduction Class Outline

If you are new to TradeSchool this class will walk you through the steps of installing and configuring your software, then utilizing its basic features so your ready to start using it on your own.  This class covers: 

  • Installation of FileMaker Pro
  • Installation of FileMaker Server
  • Installation of TradeSchool files
  • Using TradeSchool for the first time
  • User accounts and privileges
  • User and Application preferences
  • Overview of each of the 7 modules

Intermediate Class Outline

This class assumes you understand the basics of installing and configuring FileMaker and the TradeSchool database.  Now you're ready to learn the in-depth tools available in the software application.  This class covers:

  • Performing simple finds and the search operators
  • Performing complex finds using multiple requests and portal criteria
  • Working with Saved Finds
  • Using the Certification Framework
  • Using the Group Framework
  • Using the Correspondence Framework
  • Using the Employee Framework
  • Module review

Advanced Class Outline

One of the most powerful features of TradeSchool is the ability to work with custom fields and drag-and-drop reporting.  If you understand the modules and frameworks of TradeSchool then your ready to learn the most incredible tools within the application.  This class covers:

  • Overview of TradeSchool custom reporting file
  • Overview of TradeSchool base tables and relationships
  • FileMaker layout parts, views, tools and settings
  • Merging and placement of local fields, related fields and portals
  • Sub Summary layouts and sorting records
  • Excellent reporting techniques
  • Tying custom reports into your TradeSchool interface
  • Automating with FileMaker scripts
Classes will be held according to the needs of our customers.  Regional training centers of the NJATC are always a great place to schedule classes.  We will begin working with our NJATC partners to schedule on-sight regional training classes as the product becomes closer to shipping.
